Monivong has numerous Chinese restaurants spread along its street. They offer some of the best hand-made noodles and dumplings in the city, although basic, they open late at night and are cheap for a capital city.
Khmer food is not to be forgotten, and the street food here is excellent. All Asian cuisine such as Japanese and Thai are catered for, and a growing number of Western restaurants have started opening recently. New fusion cuisine is also making its way in.
BKK3 is now rivalling its esteemed brother BKK1 on new residential and commercial developments. Building services and amenities are equal, but there is a different feel about the area.
Tuol Tom Poung to the South is also experiencing a boom in middle-class Khmers, expats and professionals coming to the area after work and on weekends for the vibrant restaurant and bar scene.
With people seeing this as an attractive middle-ground for spending evenings and weekends, the same can be said for people thinking I should look to buy property in BKK3.
