Tuol Tom Poung has been one of the fastest turnarounds of any commune in any district in Phnom Penh over the recent past.
What was once famed only for the Russian Market, always good for tourists for shopping and souvenirs, but there wasn’t much else in Tuol Tom Poung.

The restaurant scene is exploding here. What used to be based explicitly around the Russian Market (Phsar Toul Tom Poung) has now spread far and beyond.
Cuisine from around the world is represented from street food level to 5-star fine dining.
The area is a hotbed for international eateries such as Brooklyn Pizza. An authentic American Bistro with a microbrewery for pale ales is a well-renowned eatery and Chidori Japanese and Sushi Chef, offering great Japanese fare.
The area has become popular in modern culture. It appears regularly on blogs and radio as the new cool place in town. But this hasn’t just stuck with the younger generation; it now attracts Khmers and expats and foreign workers of all ages to the area.
With excellent access roads around the city and many brand new apartment buildings and condominiums at some of the best prices in the city, it is difficult to tell anyone not to take a close look at living in an area only a decade ago was not on anyone’s radar.
Tuol Tom Poung is not short of brand outlets for shopping, fantastic eateries, chic bars, coffee shops and cafes. The area has everything, a place where you can buy things cheap and find quality, great pharmacies, access to schools and public services.
If you were to spend a day around the area and get a feel for it, there’s every chance you will get hooked. Some of the new-build condos have every you want, but a 2-bedroom condo or apartment can be as little as $800 per month. For the quality of the building and its services, this can be double in other city areas.
We are getting new regular listings in the area. Whether you be single, a couple or a family, we urge that the area has everything and prices are even lower. At the same time, travel restrictions and quarantine are still everyday situations for many.
We expect a considerable rebound in many areas of Phnom Penh when we return to normal. However, buying property in Tuol Kork was still representing excellent value for money before the global downturn.
